In addition to the packages offered in this brochure, The Maiden
head
Steam Navigation Company has a fleet of vessels available for private
charter. These offer corporate or private clients fine dining on some
of the most beautiful reaches on the river Thames. Please telephone
our reservations office for our corporate brochure along with a selection
of delicious menus and an interesting wine list and we will be delighted
to assist you to arrange the perfect event.
The most modern vessel in our fleet, launched in 1996 the ‘Georgian’ is able to cater for up to 140 passengers enjoying a cocktail party or buffet or 80 passengers having a silver service luncheon or dinner in her teak panelled and centrally heated saloon. The upper deck is half covered providing the ideal area for pre-dinner cocktails.
A traditional passenger boat built in 1894 the ‘S.L. Belle’ has been faithfully restored by our company and can now offer passengers a glimpse of a bygone era. 70 passengers can be accommodated for a cocktail party or buffet whilst 28 people can be seated in the elegant lower saloon for luncheon or dinner. Probably the prettiest and most versatile of the upriver Thames launches, the ‘Pink Champagne’ is the perfect vessel for family celebrations, outings and picnics, while still smart enough for the smaller seated dinner or lunch parties. Her draught allows access to all the river hotels and hostelries and many of the narrower backwaters. Clear views from both decks. Recommended for up to 50 guests in comfort and up to 30 for a seated function.
Royal Windsor Races
One of the most picturesque of England’s racecourses, set in 165
acres of beautiful Berkshire countryside, along the leafy banks of the
River Thames.
Their 24 days of racing provide an opportunity to entertain or be entertained in style, and arriving by boat avoids the likelihood of severe road congestion. Instead park your vehicle in our secure facility at Maidenhead and just relax and enjoy one of the following package s. The Executive The Director

Rolf Harris, Michael Parkinson, Billy Connolly, Sheila Ferguson of the Three Degrees, Gerald Ratner and Anthony Worall-Thompson, are all down by the river. Stories of the notorious ‘Botany Bay’, the Thames’ very own ‘red light’ district, the pretty cottage of Edward VII’s mistress, Lily Lantry and much more! From 2005 we have the sequel! Henley Festival of Music and the ArtsEach year, following the Henley Regatta, the Festival stages a week long celebration of Music and the Arts in all its forms. Classical and contemporary music, quirky and avant garde entertainment. This all takes place at various static sites and on a central floating river stage where performers of the calibre of Kiri Te Kanawa, Jools Holland and the Stereophonics have played. Reminiscent of a riverside Glyndebourne this essentially
English Summer Season event is unashamedly upmarket. We offer a number
of packages for corporate and private clients abo
ard our range of luxury
vessels. Every year we have an allocation of some of the best seats
plus we always occupy the prime river position, but demand is visually
heavy and tickets are limited so please contact us as early as possible. Swan UppingEach year at the beginning of the season cygnets are taken from various parts of the River Thames and are marked on a ‘Swan Voyage’, normally during the month of July. The swans are owned by HM the Queen and two City of London livery companies, the Vintners and the Dyers. During their river journey the ‘Swan Markers’ are accompanied by the Queens Swanmaster and members of the Watermen’s Company. All of whom are dressed in colourful ceremonial robes while being rowed upstream in their traditional skiffs. The whole scene is unique and a wonderful spectacle of English pageantry. Perfect for entertaining corporate clients, especially for overseas guests.
